Melba Jo Bowling
October 7, 1956 – May 12, 2025
Melba Jo Bowling, 68, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, passed away on May 12, 2025. Born on October 7, 1956, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, Melba lived a life defined by dedication, resilience, and quiet strength.
She spent many years serving as a special education teacher, touching countless lives with her compassion and patience. In addition to her work in education, she was also a devoted farmer, deeply connected to the land and the values of hard work and perseverance. Jo found joy in the simple pleasures of life—especially in crafts and quilting, where her creativity and care were evident in every stitch.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cratis C. Bowling; her father, Edgar Allen Caldwell; her mother, Elizabeth Mertis Caldwell; one brother; and two sisters.
Jo is survived by her loving daughters: Elizabeth Bowling and Clint Shultz; Jody Bailey and husband Josh Bailey; and Shelly Henderson and husband Cody Henderson. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Devon Turner, Brittany Linville, Elizabeth Bailey, Joshua Bailey Jr., Christopher Bowling, Jentry Henderson, Tobey Henderson, GraciejoBowling, and Skylajo Bowling. She was blessed with two great-granddaughters, Harper and Magnolia Linville.
Known for her honesty, reliability, and unwavering persistence, Jo was a steady presence in the lives of those who knew her. Her strength of character and deep love for her family will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
