Georgia Starr Obituary

Georgia Ann Starr passed peacefully into the heavenly gates on January 21st, 2026at her home in Kansas, Oklahoma after an extended illness that she faced with grace and resilience. She was surrounded by a loving family with whom she shared many wonderful adventures, from the warm beaches of Destin to the regal mountains of Banff.  She was 66 years old.

She was born Georgia Ann Starr at Tinker Air Force Base in Norman, Oklahoma on February 14th, 1959 to Wayne Starr and Evelyn Fields Starr and older sister, Rhonda.  Her early life was spent sharing happy childhood times with family and friends in Delaware County. She graduated from Kansas High School.  She later moved to Oklahoma City where she lived for 30 years while serving as an administrator at the Department of Education. After retirement, she moved back home to be closer to family.

Georgia Ann brought two sons into the world, Jordan and Drew and was a proud grandmother to three grandchildren who carry on her sense of adventure.  Her family was her greatest treasure, she valued the time with her parents, sister, grandparents, children, grandchildren and nephews. She enjoyed traveling and loved her trips to the beach, to the eastern shores of the country and to Canada.  Proud of her Cherokee heritage and despite her illness, she recently delved into several classes and enjoyed learning how to make traditional baskets and pottery. She was the fun Auntie to her sister’s son and grandchildren and to her grandson and granddaughter she was “Cool G”. She was also known for her gentle and kind nature as well as her faith and spirituality. She was a member of Eber Ezer Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Starr, grandparents, Jose Starr and Inez Hogner Starr; Colon Fields and Dora Smith Fields as well as other beloved Aunts and Uncles. She is survived by her sons, Jordan and partner Tasha and Drew and wife Tesla, grandchildren Cash Hodges, Winter Hodges and Owen Hodges. She also leaves behind a loving mother, Evelyn Fields Starr, a sister, Rhonda Starr and brother, Gerald Starr. Others grieving her loss are nieces Kynder (Brock) Enmeier and Cheyenne (Easton) Blackbird; Nephew Seth (Vanessa) Starr and great nephews, Joe and Mason Starr as well as many extended relatives scattered across the heartland.

A Celebration of Georgia Ann’s amazing life will be announced at a later date.
