Daryl Ray Alexander, 70, of Comanche, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 13, 2026, in Oklahoma City, surrounded by his family. The MemorialService will be held 3 PM Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Bethel Church 700 W Plato Rd, Duncan, OK 73533.
Daryl was born July 21, 1955, in Borger, Texas to Alva George and Cora Dorotha (Segroves) Alexander. After tragically losing his mother at age 6, the role of mothering was filled by his older sisters, Ada Ruth and Alvena. After graduation from High School, Daryl spent a summer in Memphis, Tennessee selling books door-to-door with his brother Fred. Those early experiences taught him resilience and gave him a strong work ethic. He enjoyed working with horses during various times in his life and passed that love along to his daughters and grandchildren. Daryl’s favorite pastimes were fishing, baking bread, woodworking, welding, repairing cars and lawnmowersand bragging on his kids and grandkids. You knew you were loved by Daryl when you were gifted one of his custom-made bar-b-que grills, a hand turned “Red Neck Writin’ Stick”, or when he teased you about anything! He loved serving his church wherever he could, which included roles such as the Sunday School Superintendent, Sound Tech, and behind the scenes encourager. His health in recent months prevented him from attending his church, but his heart was always with his “church family” at Bethel Church. The only books he needed were his many cover-worn study Bibles where prayer cards for missionaries filled in as bookmarks and testaments of where his values were placed. He longed for Heaven and with his last breath met his Savior with a smile as he was greeted with “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
Daryl was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Earlene Alexander, Marlene Thompson & Ada Ruth Fleming.
Continuing his legacy are his daughters, Dana Mack & husband Jeremy of Phoenix, Arizona, Kristy Ponce and husband James of Wichita Falls, Texas; brother, Fred Alexander and wife Anne of Odem, Texas; sister, Alvena Wilson of Pueblo, Colorado, the mother of his children, Ruby Elizondo of Bessie, Oklahoma, and 15 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you consider donating to non-profits that were close to Daryl’s heart.
