In later years she volunteered/ worked for the church she attended Victory Christian Center for 10+ years. In 1976 Anita met the love of her life Les one day when she and Kay walked into Otasco in Enid, Les told his best friend Ed that very day “I'm gonna marry that woman”. One day Les's mom was at the hospital (where Anita was nursing) having tests performed he ran into her again, they rode the elevator with her and their conversations and courtship began. After having dated 2 weeks Les ask her to marry him. They started making plans, At the same time her sister Kay was also engaged. Their mom Martha requested a double wedding. Within 6 weeks, October 2 they were married. After their 2 oldest daughters were grown, her grandchildren began and Anita was smitten in love, she spoiled them with every ounce of love she had. In 2010 Anita and Les adopted their third child Abbigail, Billy Weaver's granddaughter. Anita jumped at the opportunity to fulfill a need. Abbigail is one of Anita's great joys. She loved caring for a baby again and Abbigail sprung new life into her and Les.

Abbigail's words, “Our mom changed so many people’s lives for the people she helped, chose as her children and cared for”.

Mom never met a stranger which at times was to a fault, but she ministered to all those who crossed her path. She loved sharing the joy of the Lord. She accomplished writing and publishing 2 books about her journey of how God brought her back from the bondage of depression. Anita spent a lifetime battling illness with near death experiences, but she never let it stop her from doing what she was called to do. She was a woman of God and had a strong faith. She battled many things as a warrior. Anita loved to dress up and bling out, she also sold premier jewelry. It was very rare to see mom without her jewelry bling shining bright. She always said “I want to look my best to be a reflection of what God has done for me”. Anita had many craft skills, one of which was her bracelet making. For anyone who knows mom her bracelet making was near the top. She spent hours praying during her crafting. They were beautiful, she would hand them out in hopes it blessed each person who wore them. We will forever love , miss our matriarch and will hold her close in our hearts.

The family would also like to Thank Interim Hospice for their invaluable care with our mom keeping her comfortable.  We loved each of the nurses and caregivers that came to help.  Memorial services for Anita will be held on Saturday January 25, 2025 at 11:00 am at Family Church, 701 N. Cemetery Rd  Yukon, OK 73099
